Ovarian cysts and pregnancy?

I heard that sometimes if you have a cyst on your overy it can cause a pregnancy test to show up positive, is this true?

Ovarian cysts and pregnancy?
no pregnancy is a hormone all by itself theres no way an ovarian cyst would show positive
Reply:no, but it can delay your periods.
Reply:Dear Friend, You can get information and support at a pregnancy resource center, which you can find through optionline on the net, or call 1800afamily. Take good care. Sincerely, Runner

Ovarian cysts?

is there any medical person out there who can maybe put my mind at rest i am going to hospital tomorrow to see a specialist as i have a large cyst on my right ovary now after looking at the internet i am frightened because of my age it seems i could be looking at cancer ( i dont know the results of my ca125 blood test untill tomorrow) thank you

Ovarian cysts?
Theres a forum on Yahoo about those who may be having a Uturary Artery Embolization (i think its spelled) but its a procedure where doctors go in and block the blood that feeds the cyst and it causes them to shrink. Many people have cyst on their uterus you'd be surprised. Most are non cancerous. But I understand your nervous about finding out-I hope the best for you.

Check out the forum.
Reply:hi - had to add here. Best of luck for the future, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. xxx Report It

Reply:dont worry dear! they are common in us women!

ur gp mit have put you on the pill as it cures the cyst! but maybe age is against you...i know i cant take the pill as it would have side effects on me as i am 43!
Reply:Ovarian cancer is one of the rarest cancers around, but cysts are incredibly common, especially around menopause when your hormones are changing.

I had a cyst and had to do the CA125 test too (albeit I was 16). I had it removed surgically, and haven't had a problem since.

But really, the best thing you can do is get this sorted out as quickly as possible. The sooner you know what's wrong, the sooner you can fix it.

Good luck.
Reply:It would be rare that it would be ovarian cancer although you are at an advanced risk because of your age. I have had so many cysts I am 36 that i cannot count them.

It is good that you are monitoring the cyst and your doctor will be able to tell you what kind of cyst it is, simple cyst, hemmoragic cyst, complex cyst ect......you have a lot of hormonal changes going on which could cause this to be happening

Regardless it is something to be monitored closely by an ob/gyn...good luck my prayers are with you i know it is scary.

Ovarian cysts?

everyone keeps telling me to make sure it dont rupture? how am i soposed to know if my 2cm cyst ruptures? i'm only in pain when i push down on my lower right stomach, sometiems i'll get a sharp shooting pain for a second but it goes away. I've been seen at hospital, soposed to follow up w/ a ob/gyn and i dont have insurance and everyone said planned parenthood isn't a good place to go for this. im only 20 and this is all new, i have noone to talk toabout it

Ovarian cysts?
Docs won't do anything until the cysts become so large. You'll know if they rupture because you'll be in so much pain you want to die. They may put you on a BCP to help control your hormones, but that's really all they can do. Mine got to nearly an inch in size and the docs surgically drained them. Most of the time they do just rupture and life goes on.
Reply:I know that this is something you want to get checked out ASAP!!!! my girlfriends mother and sister have had to undergo hysterectomies because of ovarian cysts at the age of 29..... which will prevent you from getting preganant ever.... I'm no expert but it is something you shouldn't wait on... go to the hospital and they will work with you about payments and even suggest Access ( goverment assisted insurance)... best of luck
Reply:You are OK first of all

2 cm cyst is no big deal.

Don't waste you time with ob

they will not remove it unless it gets to 6 cm anyway.

Many women have cysts.

Hopefully, you don't have a change in your period or much excess cramping yet. If not, I wouldn't worry now
Reply:cysts on your ovaries are related to your inability to express your creativity. Does this make sense in your life at this moment? Go deep within and find the emotional basis of your cyst and express your creativity in your preferred form on a daily basis and you will dissolve that cyst quickly. The answer regarding the root of the cause of this imbalance are within you.

Bartholin cysts?

I got my first bartholin cyst abscess last year. After 2 trips to the hospital and 2 wrong diagnoses, I finally went to my gynecologist to find out what it really was.

Now, it has been back for a few weeks, although it was not infected. It is starting to grow slightly (its been hovering around the size of a large grape) and starting to get more sore than it was, which means it is probably getting infected again.

I had a catheter in it the last time and it kept it away for a year, but the hole has since closed up. I've tried breaking the skin that has grown over inside the hole, with no luck.

Can my midwife put in a new catheter, or will I have to go to my gynecologist to have it put back in?

I'm due in June, and I don't want to put it off too much longer...

Bartholin cysts?
You need to see your doctor as soon as possible...........please don't delay.

best of luck to you!

Polonidal Cysts?

I have my first polonidal cyst...I am curious what kind of surgeon I should see a colon and rectal or a dermatologist.

Polonidal Cysts?
Normally a "General surgeon" takes care of this depending on the size. Usually you need to see your family dr first who will refer you there. Go soon, these can get pretty big and painful quickly if not taken care of.
Reply:If you have the option of seeing a colo-rectal surgeon that would be the first choice as they treat more of these than any other doctor, second choice would be a general surgeon.
Reply:a general practitioner should be fine - it is a simple procedure to drain and treat it most of the time.

Ovarian cysts?

Hi,i have been informed i have a 4cm functional cyst on my ovary, but why do i look pregnant, when it is only small?I have actually been asked by a work colleague if i am pregnant :(

Ovarian cysts?
Hey there. I really understand where you are coming from. My beautiful wife has P C O S Which is kind of the same thing and she got asked the same thing the other day. Your body tries to protect itself from the foreign body that is in you by surrounding it with ( dare i say it ) fat. This is just part of having ovarian cysts. Talk to your doctor and ask for as much information on the condition as possible.

I hope this helps You are not the only one in this boat.

My wife is very strict on her diet to combat this. She lost an amazing 6 Stone!!!
Reply:I had 2 cysts on my ovaries and had to have them removed. good luck

Ovarian cysts during pregnancy??

I've had a few before, and they were detected via ultrasound. I have a OB appt on the 3rd - if I tell her I think I have one, will she check?? I am in so much pain from it - I'm 100% positive that's what the pain is because I've had the before and this feels the exact same, right where my right ovary is at (which is where I always have them anyway.) Will she check for one? If she does, and she finds it, is there anything they can or will do for me?? I know they usually go away on their own but mine usually take FOREVER!!!!!!

Has anyone else experienced a ovarian cyst while pregnant? What happened with it?? Please help! Thanks!

I'll be 12w6d when I go in.

Ovarian cysts during pregnancy??

Reply:My sister had a couple while pregnant and when she went into labor and started to try and deliver they popped on there own, she said that it was not all that painful. Goodluck I hope they go away before then!
Reply:my mom had one while she was pregnant with me. She had surgery to get it removed.
