I have multiple cysts on my overies does that mean i have pcos?
It is possible, but not certain that you have PCOS. While ovarian cysts are one symptom of PCOS, remember that PCOS is a syndrome. That means that it has a whole set of symptoms, and you don't have to have all of the symptoms to have PCOS. It is even possible to have PCOS without having ovarian cysts, and it is definitely possible to have ovarian cysts without having PCOS--in fact, many women have ovarian cysts while only 5-10% of women have PCOS. Other symptoms of PCOS include acne, irregular cycles or fertility problems, being overweight and having difficulty losing weight, body and facial hair growth, thinning scalp hair, skin tags, and/or dark patches of skin. If you have PCOS symptoms or if you're still worried, ask your doctor to check your hormone levels and insulin function to see if you may have PCOS.
Reply:PCOS has many other symptoms, Most likely you would have it. Doe you have any other symptoms? Maybe you can get all your hormones tested, because if you catch it early you can prevent the other ones form getting worse!!!
Reply:It definitely is a symptom of PCOS........ask your doctor and do some research. It's very possible and it's best to know now if you're TTC. Good luck
Reply:PCOS has a very specific number of symptoms, not just cysts. You could be tested by your gynecologist if you are concerned, and talk to her about PCOS or other symptoms you might have.
Reply:ok, if you have cysts and the dr. told you the size of the cysts then he/she should of done more tests to see why your having cysts, but cysts is not the only sign of pcos another sign is not ovulating and being over weight or under weight and you can have insulin problems too! but cysts can dissolve on there on, they want stop you from getting pregnant if that's what your worry about, good luck
