Bone Cysts?

We just came from the ER, my daughter fell and apparently broke a growth plate in her ankle. She also twisted her knee and during the xray found a bone cyst....Does anyone know what this could possibly mean?

Bone Cysts?
DON'T WORRY ABOUT BONE CYST IT WILL DISAPPEAR AFTER 2 WEEKS.

MORE TO WORRY ABOUT IS FRACTURE IN THE GROWTH PLATE. GROWTH PLATE IS THE PART WHERE THE BONE GET NUTRITION AND YOUNG BONE GROWS. BONE GROWTH CAN BE LITTLE IMPAIRED IN THE FUTURE BUT NOT ALWAYS
Reply:The simple bone cyst is a common, benign, fluid-containing lesion, usually occurring in the metaphysis of long bones. The cause of the lesion is unknown.
Reply:I have a couple of those in my knee from a car accident years ago but they werent found until 2 years after the injury on an MRI. The doc said it was injury related. Did your daughter ever have a knee injury in the past? My doc said theres little they can do about it unless it starts to grow or cause problems because removal would be pretty invasive. Otherwise its nothing to worry about.
Reply:yeah my cousin had a bone cyst this year they remove part of the bone and replace it with a cudiver bone(i don't think i spelled it right but it's a dead persons bone)anyways he was fine after surgery and had a month of rehabilitation and was back to normal.
Reply:If the cyst isn't tangled up in arteries or veins, it can be operated on to remove it. My mom has one the size of a golf ball in her wrist from being a secretary for so long, I get them in my fingers. The old method of getting rid of them was to drop a large book (encyclopedia) on it. I got rid of the one in my middle finger from hitting a fastball at a softball game, shattered the whole thing. It's just a collection of fluid in the joints that has solidified. If it's not painful and isn't causing any reactions from your daughter I wouldn't worry about it. But they do grow and do become painful. Just Wait and see what happens. If she falls and smacks it really good it might just shatter and go away, if not surgery is your best bet!
