What kind of surgeon would you see to have a pilonidal cyst removed...colon and rectal or dermatologist. I am kinda confused about this since it is considered a skin disease.

Unfortunately for me, it was an ER doc - no specialist. But I had read afterward that a good colon or rectal specialist is really the way to go. I'll say it was incredibly painful process, and it sounds like specialsts can certainly make it a much less painful process.
