Ovarian cysts?

is there any medical person out there who can maybe put my mind at rest i am going to hospital tomorrow to see a specialist as i have a large cyst on my right ovary now after looking at the internet i am frightened because of my age it seems i could be looking at cancer ( i dont know the results of my ca125 blood test untill tomorrow) thank you

Ovarian cysts?
Theres a forum on Yahoo about those who may be having a Uturary Artery Embolization (i think its spelled) but its a procedure where doctors go in and block the blood that feeds the cyst and it causes them to shrink. Many people have cyst on their uterus you'd be surprised. Most are non cancerous. But I understand your nervous about finding out-I hope the best for you.

Check out the forum.
Reply:hi - had to add here. Best of luck for the future, I will keep you and your family in my prayers. xxx Report It

Reply:dont worry dear! they are common in us women!

ur gp mit have put you on the pill as it cures the cyst! but maybe age is against you...i know i cant take the pill as it would have side effects on me as i am 43!
Reply:Ovarian cancer is one of the rarest cancers around, but cysts are incredibly common, especially around menopause when your hormones are changing.

I had a cyst and had to do the CA125 test too (albeit I was 16). I had it removed surgically, and haven't had a problem since.

But really, the best thing you can do is get this sorted out as quickly as possible. The sooner you know what's wrong, the sooner you can fix it.

Good luck.
Reply:It would be rare that it would be ovarian cancer although you are at an advanced risk because of your age. I have had so many cysts I am 36 that i cannot count them.

It is good that you are monitoring the cyst and your doctor will be able to tell you what kind of cyst it is, simple cyst, hemmoragic cyst, complex cyst ect......you have a lot of hormonal changes going on which could cause this to be happening

Regardless it is something to be monitored closely by an ob/gyn...good luck my prayers are with you i know it is scary.
