A hysterectomy is an extreme solution for such a common problem. Having a hysterectomy can give you all sorts of other, much more severe, problems. In actuality, a majority of women are not the typical text book case of menstrual flow. Cysts and fibroids are not always the case. You may also have PCOS. Or you may just be like many other women who have irregular periods. Also, being overweight can also cause this.
Reply:its probably irregular.
Reply:doctor is wrong everything is fine
Reply:I think there are less radical things to do, your uterus is important to your estrogen production, I think it supplies some blood flow to the ovaries......

Do some more research...
Reply:it depends how old you are and if you have children this is what happened to me i was 39 and had full hysterectomy
Reply:Doesn't sound like a good doctor to me. A gynecologist should be able to rule out if it is a cyst or fibroids. I had fibroids and I was bleeding all the time. A nurse practitioner told me it was probably my birth control pills doing it to me. Then I asked for a doctor and sure enough it was fibroids which I had removed. The operation is only 20 minutes depending on the procedure.
Reply:I hate to say it but you may want a second opinion if you are unsure. But really think about the possibility that you don't want to mess with your insides if something is wrong. Depends on where these cysts are. Ovarian cysts are normal everyone gets them every month they are how the eggs get out of your ovaries. On the other hand if they do not break they can cause issues. Mine had to be poped several times. Are you anywhere near menopause?? Maybe meds would help. P.S. Depression can send your cycle into a tailspin. Ask doctor about treating that instead. If you are really not comfortable with the answers to your questions from your doctor try speaking to a homeopathic doctor as they treat mind body and spirit not just body. Worth a try if you want kids in your future or if you are going through menopause. PPS this is brian's wife answering not Brian. Good luck and remember there is no stupid questions only inadequate answers. So sit your doctor down and ask away, it's their job to answer. As far as I know fibriods are treatable.
