The only thing I could do to help with the pain of cysts is to take an anti-inflammatory med (Motrin, Ibuprofen) and rest with a heating pad on either your stomach or back, wherever it feels best. Until you can see the doc, there's not much else you can do. Sorry.
Reply:if the bad pain is now- go to ER-

if u can wait call MD in the morning to let them know u are in incredible pain- see if they can write u a prescription for somethin for the time in between seeing the endocrinologist
Reply:Sounds like PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome)! The same thing happened to me, and I am going through the same thing right now with an endocrinologist. I would recommend getting a referral to a different endo - one that can see you sooner!

For the pain associated with a ruptured cyst, I laid in bed as much as I could with a heating pad and took 3 advil every few hours. I also tried to avoid twisting motions as much as possible.

The fact that your doctor has you on the pill will help prevent new cysts from forming, so that's a step in the right direction. It will also bring down your levels of testosterone...also good. However, a lot of people believe that PCOS can be caused by insulin resistance (basically what happens before diabetes), so be sure to limit your sugar, bread, pasta, potato, etc intake. Losing weight will help bring your levels down to normal on their own. Try The Zone diet, or any other Low Glycemic Index diet like South Beach. I'm sure your endo will talk to you about it, but it definitely sounds like you have PCOS, and all these things I mentioned will help.
