Went to the gyn today and my the doctor told me had three ovarian cyst and one that leaks..also two tumors..?

I told her I was in so much pain that It hurts to walk at times and my stomach is so bloated if I eat anything and I feel so tired all the time.. she said take the pill loestrin24fe and I'll see you in a year..What the H*ll was that all about.. I mean damn should'nt she had done some blood work or something to see if other things were wrong..I feel cheated!! do u think that's all she should have done?? I could be really sick ..I hate when doctors don't take you serious .DO you think I should see a different doctor or go see her in a year!! a year that's a good way of saying she don't want to be my doctor don't you think?? or should I just take the pill and shut up?? serious answers now cause I really fell sick all the time..

I would take the pill, but also look in to seeing another Dr. I know mine does blood work if I go in feeling sick.

Reply:well...ovarian cysts in a young girl like u will be treated with pain relieving drugs and the pills u were prescribed...





u may get an ultrasound scan of pelvis to see how much they are in present state....


and if u dont get relief the same doc will see u...again...and change drugs....


u should take drugs for sure....and see her in a couple of weeks time...or if you dont get relief in a few days time....





usually doctors dont do tests unnecessarily...if they can see feel what is wrong with u straightaway....if u dont get better see her again i bet she will do all tests on u!!!
Reply:Blood work won't tell her anything about your cysts. Aside from surgery, there isn't much else she could do. Ovarian cysts come and go with your own body's cycles and healing time. The birth control pill she described will help even out your hormones and prevent the cysts from forming. The existing ones need time to heal. The pills will not be "working" in 6 weeks. You need to give it time.





However, no matter what anyone says here, if YOU feel cheated and if YOU feel you need a second opinion, by all means, go do it.
