I am sorry that your new sister is having problems. It sounds like she may have a disease called Autosomal Recessive PKD, but with the little bit of info you gave, it is hard to be sure. Most babies who have this problem have some medical issues, but the majority will come home from the hospital and will be okay, especially if they are not born too early.





It will be tough for her, but she will be able to do most of the things other kids can do. Eventually, your sister will probably need a kidney and maybe a liver transplant.

I dont know. I know my mom has polycystic kidney disease (PKD), she had kidney failrue around age 54 and so did her dad. i was lucky and did not get it. I do not know if it means this but you can do a search and read about it. It couldbe nothing. Polycystic - means many cysts. good luck.
Reply:thats like a tumor on the kidney...it may be cancerous so why not if possible get sample from baby to find out for sure? or wait til baby is born and then possibly get it removed before it becomes cancerous.. god bless baby and all...

Reply:no, i have a cyst i didnt find out until i was pregnant you shouldnt worry unless it starts getting bigger then go see your doctor
