I have a big boil on my back caused from a ruptured cyst how do I get rid of it from home.?
isnt it just suppose to fall off?
Reply:This sounds strange, but I know from experience it works - cut a potato in half - tape it to the boil and leave it their while you're sleeping- do this until it has completely drawn the boil to a dried condition. If you've ever noticed cooking a potato with other vegetables changes the flavor of the potato that is because they are drawing vegetables.
Reply:Poke it with a hot poker! Heat up a sewing needle with the stove and POP! It's gross, have lots of tissues and some antibiotic ointment. YUCK!
Reply:You don't get rid of it on your own, because it is an infection. You go to the doctor and let him/her treat it properly before it spreads. It can get real, REAL nasty if you fool around and don't get proper medical attention. How nasty? Ever hear of erysipelas? You freakin' don't want to - that can be fatal!
Reply:I would personally cut or rip it off...
Reply:Put tea tree oil on it, that should kill the germs without killing your skin. Then cover it with tea tree oiled-bandage but don't seal it so the skin can still breathe.
Reply:You don't. You need to see a physician. At-home remedies are deadly. You need to have it surgically removed where the proper instruments and aseptic techniques could be used. A doctor may want to perform a biopsy on it, just to be sure that it is not malignant.
Reply:My when my lil girl was 1 1/2 yrs old, she had a boil and I tried all the home remedies from the skin from inside a raw egg, Epsom salt bath, camphophenique to cabbage peels on the boil. I did everything under the sun...until she was unable to walk, crawl or sit. I took her to children's hospital and it ruptured!! They said it was the worst case of a boil on a child they'd ever seen (Little Rock Children's Hospital).
The drainage was enough to fill a mayonnaise jar. She ended up having surgery and it took 9 feet of packing gauze to fill it!!! She ended up with MRSA (staph infection) in which she will have the trait for life now due to me wanting to do home remedies instead of going to a professional for care. She had a IV drip for antibiotics for the entire week that she was in the hospital.
I had to take her everyday for a week and a half to get her packing changed.
I only told you my story to inspire you to seek attention from a doctor before it gets worse. Oh and by the way, my aunt (52yr old) had one on her back and breast and she too got a staph infection from trying to treat it herself and she also had to have surgery when all her home remedies did NOT work.
Basically,
Go See a doctor and do NOT play with your health. Also, never think "Oh it's JUST a BOIL".
