Help!!!!

I learn from my doctor esterday that I have a prtty big cyst in my right ovary. besides surgery, is there any?
Hon, please discuss with your OB-GYN the possibility of taking birth control pills to shrink your cyst. As a young woman, I had one on my right ovary the size of an orange. Taking birth control pills shrunk it; by the time I was in my late thirties, it was gone, I eliminated the pills, and the cyst never returned. This therapy may work for you as well.

BTW Hon, I became pregnant with my daughter well before this time and had a pregnancy with no complications, in spite of the cyst. Best of luck to you.
Reply:get a new ovary
Reply:well you can take birth control to ease the cramping and to help the cyst from getting any bigger but no there is no other way than surgery. you wont lose an ovary though. i had to large cysts when i was 15 one on each ovary. they had to do surgery but it wasnt all that bad. the healing part is the worst. they had to do mine kinda like a c section. but i wouldnt have changed that. i havent had a problem since and i can still have kids. you should definitely get the surgery. it will be the best thing for you in the long run. the cyst will only get worse in time
Reply:In most cases a cyst on the ovary does no harm and goes away by itself. Most women have them sometime during their lives. Cysts are rarely cancerous in women under 50. Cysts sometimes hurt - but not always. Often, a woman finds out about a cyst when she has a pelvic exam.

If you're in your childbearing years or past menopause, have no symptoms, and have a fluid-filled cyst, you may choose to monitor the cyst. You may need surgery if you have pain, are past menopause or if the cyst does not go away. Birth control pills can help prevent new cysts.

NO WORRIES. Talk to your doctor about your options.

Reply:I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and I have multiple cysts in each ovary.. the only way to get rid of them is surgery.. I am putting it off myself, I am only 21, but because of the cysts I have not had a "monthly" in over 5 years.. Surgery is the best route...
Reply:You have a cyst that can grow as big as a grapefruit and if you

do not get it out now you may loose the other one.

I left mine in because of fear of surgery and had to have a total

hystrectomy . I had 1 size of a grapefruit a lemon and a baseball. It was not cancerous fibercystic tumors but I was in bed 5 days out of every month from pain cramps and lost 3 job because of it.

I feel so much better and I love not having to fear each month.
