Most cysts are harmless, although she may experience some spotting as a result (I developed a cyst during pregnancy).
As always, be sure to ask your doctor, that's what they are there for!
My wife is pregant with our 3rd and was notified of a cyst during the ultrasound. Potential issues?
i wouldn't worry about it. I had the same thing. It usually goes away after the baby is born.
Reply:You should ask the doctor this question. Depends on the type of cyst and the location. Some are harmless, some may pose some problems, possibly. Doctor should explain this.
I have a cyst on one of my ovaries that was found during my ultrasound. I am now 37.5 weeks pregnant and have had no real problems and certainly none relating to the cyst.
Reply:No cause for alarm...most woman have cysts. I have one on my right ovary that I have had for a long time now. If it is large or in the way they will talk to her about taking care of it after pregnancy.
Most times it is completely normal for her to have one, sometimes pregnancy will make them go away as well. If the doctor is not concerned then don't be either.
Reply:It depends...my mom had one when she was pregnant with me and they just watched it closely. It was growing pretty rapidly, so they waited until she was in her second trimester (about 4 months along) and they operated.
Most of the time it's not that extreme. Women get them all the time and they just take care of themself.
Best advise is to talk to your doctor. Best of luck to you and your wife!
Reply:where is the cyst? There was a cyst found during my daughters ultrasound inside her brain, which has caused no problems. You didnt mention who the cyst was found in, mother or baby, or where it was located.
Can't tell you the potential issues, if we don't know more details.
Reply:I would not worry about it but would check with her doctor. I had several on both of mine with my first son - the doctor told me that with these I had a much lower chance of miscarriage. They were gone by the time I had the baby. Good Luck to you guys and Best Wishes!!
