Is there any difference between polycystic ovary syndrome and appearnce of multiple cyst (polycyst) in ovary?

There is a big difference. Multiple cysts on the ovary are fairly common - about 20 % of all women have this condition, and it does not lead to any serious problems later, unless one of them becomes very large and may need removal.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a completely different conditon , which involves many other systems of the body and becomes more serious as time goes on. Obesity, hirsutism (excessive hair), infertility and miscarriage are some of the problems endountered by women with PCOS.

There are many informative web sites devoted to PCOS - do a Google search and you will find plenty of information.
