Is there anything I can do for my dog he has a cyst by his ear that keeps opening up and bleeding ?

I already asked the vet they said there is nothing much I can do other than wash it off and hold pressure on it till it stops. It will form a scab and then a few days later he'll either bump it or shake his head or scratch it and it opens up again. I feel so bad but I just keep washing it off with cool water on a wash cloth and holding pressure on it till it stops. Just wondering if there is something else I could put on it that might stop it or help ease the itch or pain of it. He had one on his foot that shrank over time and is pratically gone. So hoping this one will to. He's 15yrs old I know I should expect things like this to happen but I want to keep him comfortable and help him out the best I can yet for him. He's prefectly good otherwise.

At his age I don't blame you for not having it surgically removed. Next time it opens up, try cleaning it with peroxide, then put some Neosporin on it. That should relieve the pain and itch.........good luck with him.
Reply:you could have it surgically removed. or you can buy an e-collar for your dog to wear untill it heals so that he can't reach it to scratch it open again.
Reply:OMG, take him to the vet, they will operate.
