Hospitalised for a week nowing not much till test resulted to ruptured ovarian cyst...laparoscopy????

Not knowing what was happening untill i was hospitalised for a week and on regular pain relief, I am now being sent to a surgeon to find out whats happening. Maybe in need of a laparoscopy to find out more. I am 24, got a 2 year old little boy and want more kids but am in fear of never having them again please anyone who has had this before answer me these questions....

Will I ever be able to have kids again?

Does a laparoscopy hurt and will it do any damage later in life?

Yes, you should still be able to conceive a child. Even if there is damage to one of your ovaries, you will still produce ova from the other.

A laparoscopy is a fairly simple prodecure. You'll have a light general anaesthetic so you'll feel no pain. There may be some initial pain following the procedure, but you will only have to ask for pain relief if it is too bad. You shouldn't be in hospital more than one night all being well, and may even be able to go home the same day.
Reply:yes u will...my sister had it 3 days ago...she stayed in hospital for 2 days...and got well again....yes u ll be able to have children....thats what the doctors told me and my sister, dont worry....hope for the best!! gud luk!
Reply:A laparoscopy is a simple medical procedure of inserting a tube into the abdominal cavity at the belly button area where then air is instilled into that area to enable the Dr. to see what is there. You are always put to sleep, so no pain will be felt. Light soreness around that area is evident for maybe one or two days after. If you have a cyst on your ovary, it can easily be removed from that procedure and you will more than likely be able to get pregnant again. Cysts are very common n the child bearing years.
