Cysts shall i worry or not?

I recantly had a cyst removed! I was a bit worried had surgery! do you think that cysts can cause alot of problems in the future for you? or is it nothing to worry about. I will be going to see the Gynaecologist! do you think that i should be worried, because i am only 22 or does age not make a lot of difference?

Cysts shall i worry or not?
It started with a cyst,

never thought it would come to this.........

only joking, see your GP if your that concerned, but there's nothing much to worry about.
Reply:If the cyst is benign and not in a bad spot then there is no need to worry.
Reply:you should be consulting your family doctor
Reply:You don't say what kind of cysts you had, but as long as they were removed properly you shouldn't have any problems.
Reply:nothing to worry
Reply:nothing to worry about my friend cysts are normally harmless and when they are removed the hospital checks them for any irregular cell growth(cancers)99% of cysts are harmless with no long lasting problems and virtually scar free tissue, they can however grow back sometimes butthey are only a cosmetic inconvenience a bit like warts ..

dont worry

thanks
Reply:Beign cysts rarely cause major difficulties because they can be well managed. They are usually more of an annoyance than a serious concern.

It is often the position of a cyst that can cuse discomfort and irritation. Cysts can also become infected with can cause considerable pain and may require antibiotic treatment or surgical intervention.

Surgical removal of cysts is often usefull, but cannot guarantee cure because some cysts can re-occur.

Have a chat to the gyaecologist, I'm sure that they will be able to help you manage your concerns.
Reply:Cysts are a part of women's lives and are mostly disappear after a period. Having one removed doesn't necessarily mean that you will need more removed but it also doesn't mean you won't get any more. Keep track of any pain in the lower body and if it remains for more than one cycle of the period then see your doctor again. I had a cyst rupture when I was 21 and lost the ovary because of it, but had no more problems and went on to have two beautiful children. Age plays no part in the development of cysts, they just happen.
Reply:Well, you're not being too specific on where your cysts were, but if you're talking cervical cysts, no. Alot of girls get them and they don't mean anything. About the gyno, you shouldn't be worried about going; you should go once a year after being sexually active and at a cergtain age you should go regardless. It only takes 5 minutes but at least you'll know everything's all right.
Reply:age doesnt really make a lot of difference, although i do know a lot of people who have gone through the same situation. i wouldn't be worried but i wouldnt take it lightly either. one question i would ask your doc is will it effect you having children. don't worry, relax! x
Reply:well i m 23 and i have got cysts operated twice.. 1st time it wasnt removed properly... got it operated again 2 months back.. they wont cause any problem in future but we need to take extra care of ourselves.. even i was worried a lot earlier.. but now i m a lot better... just take extra care of urself.. there is no need to get worried
Reply:Cysts can appear anywhere. I have salivary cysts in my mouth that break once in a while. There are some that are cancerous. If you are talking about a GYN, yours are probably not occuring in the mouth. These cysts are egg follicles that kept on growing with fluid. When you are this young, these are most likely benign and will not present a major problem for your health afterwards.
Reply:cysts are nothing to worry about
Reply:Having just one or two little cysts on your ovaries is quite common and shouldn't cause a problem. They do sometimes like to monitor you to see if the cysts are going to come back though.

I had a cyst on my ovaries for ages (it was small so they didn't bother removing it) but when i got pregnant it just sort of disappeared! The Obs/Gyn consultant couldn't find it! Sometimes they go down on their own.

The only concern is that there is a conditon called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome - where basically the womans' body does not produce enough tof the right hormones to trigger ovulation every month, so the egg folliciles remain "stuck" in the ovary and turn into cysts. In this case a woman has lots of cysts, they can be painful and she will need to have them removed. They can build up again, so she may find that she has to have successive operations on them. PCOS also causes problems with fertility. As you only had one cyst removed, it doesn't sound like you have PCOS though.
