Hi, I took the morning-after pill on March the 9th.. My period should have come on April the second, but I only spotted which I was told is normal after taking the morning-after pill. I took 7 home pregnancy tests and 1 blood tests and they all came out negative. 2 days ago I went to the OBgyn and he did an ultrasound and assured me I was for sure NOT pregnant but he found a 4 cm cyst on my left ovary. He said it could have been caused by the Morning-after pill so he put me on birth control for 21 days, Mieline. Have you experienced cysts or have heard of people who took the morning-after pill and ended up with ovarian cysts? Thank you
Morning-after pill and cysts?
The morning after pill could have caused the cyst. I got a cyst on my ovary when I was pregnant and I was told its fairly common and they tend to go away on their own. Its usually due to hormone changes. You are receiveing the best treatment from your obgny so I would not worry too much. As for the first comment you got, about the MA pill killing an unborn child don't take what they have said to heart. The MA pill causes changes in the lining of your uterus so a fertilized egg cannot implant itself. It was never a baby it was a cell. Usually you take the MA pill as a precaution to prevent pregnancy, there is no saying you would have ended up pregnant without taking it. Please take all this into consideration.
Reply:People probably get cysts after the morning after pill as punishment for killing baby that was on its way to this world. I'm glad you got them. Why not just take birthcontrol or use a condom. Dumbie!!!
Reply:There are probably gonna be side effects to any medication that you take. Ranging from head ache to alot worse. I would wait and see what happens after you take the birth control pills. Cysts can be easily removed. Just try not to worry, and stay positive. And don't beat yourself up for something that you obviously felt you had to do. Wish I had more info for you. Good luck.

Ya um, I took the morning after pill and I didnt get it doctor approved, but I'm pretty positive, the pill had given me a cyst on my left ovary. I know what a cyst feels like and how they work because ive had a few. I am 19 and scared of this happening again because I know the dangers of cysts. A week later my bf and I did another oops... I didnt want to, but I took one again. Yesterday I took it and so for I have no signs of a upset ovary... but I assured him this would not happen again.
