Two follicular cysts question about twins?

I started birth control two months ago, and then i started having extreme pain. I went to the hospital and found out that i had a cyst on each ovary (one ruptured). Anyway.. my gyno told me that it was a normal part of starting birth control because the normal cyst that occurs before ovulation was not able to rupture because the egg was not in in it (due to the birth control) anyway.. i've heard of this happening but i thought it was usually only one cyst on one ovary. My question is: does this mean that i produce an egg from both ovaries at the same time? Also, does this mean i have a higher change of having twins? Just wondering.. cuz i want to have a lot of kids later on.. and i would love to have twins!!!

Two follicular cysts question about twins?
Our body starts to produce a number of ovum per cycle. Usually only one is released at the time of ovulation. One tends to mature faster or better than the others do. On occasion we can release more than one.

So just because your body formed them and had them ready, it does not mean that it will release all of them or that all of them are even good. But things happen and some people do regularly release more than one egg, some do more often than others. No one really knows. At this stage, all it means is that it seems to have happened at this time.
