Question about ovarian cysts - I'm freaking out...?

I have had on and off dull aching in my left side where my ovary is for the past 5 years or so. It has seemed to come and go ever few months. I had dealt with it for about 4 years and just assumed it was an ovarian cyst. I got married and got pregnant on the very first try. I had a beautiful baby boy 1 year ago. Now the cyst is back, I have a baby now, and my mind is getting away from me and driving me crazy. I keep thinking I have ovarian cancer. I had a c-section and wanted to ask if the delivering doctor inspect your ovaries while they have you opened up? My OBGYN said that he did and everything looked fine....but my mind keeps getting carried away. If it really was cancer, wouldn't I have gotten very sick by now...after 5 years of having this off and on dull ache? I always resigned myself to the fact that it was a cyst but now I'm scared and my mind is getting away from me.

I'm going in for a check up in a week, but I'm going crazy thinking about this. What do you think?

Question about ovarian cysts - I'm freaking out...?
It could be a recurring cyst or it could be endometriosis. Both have similar symptoms in terms of pain. Tell your doctor your fears and she can examine everything.

I've had very similar pain on my right side for 3 years now and my doctor says it's endometriosis. Just talk to your doctor and she can give you the best information.

Best of luck
Reply:Same thing for me. Although I eventually had to have mine removed. See your doctor. You have enough to worry about.
Reply:The biggest mistake people make is self-diagnosing. You've already asked your doctor and he said you're fine, you should trust him - that's why he spent years in medical school. If you don't trust his word, ask him to draw some blood, there's a test designed to detect ovarian cancer - it's expensive though.

If you don't quit worrying, you'll likely make yourself sick though - it's a proven fact that worrying and stress cause health problems.
Reply:please calm down and try not to worry im sure you doctor will do all the right tests to try to find out what the problm is you say you had a baby a yr. ago anything serious would have shown up then. so good luck when you go for your check up
Reply:I totally understand where you are coming from mate. I have PCOS and everything worries me. Unfortunately it take a little longer for me to fall pregnant.

I am really chuffed for you having a beautiful baby. Congrats.

Try and relax. I know its harder said than done when you think about all the options and the more research you do the worse the worry gets.

Your gyneacologist will determine what the problem is. If you do not feel you are getting the right info then get a second opinion.

Reply:My aunt was a nurse. She told me that most cancers do not hurt until it's too late. You're seeing the doc soon. Don't create problems if there are none. Don't mess with your own head. If your best friend did that to you, would she still be your best friend?

Peace
