Yesterday i was sitting around and all of a suddon i got some intense pain in my "bottom", i went into the ER and after some ultra sounds and pelvic exams they said that a cyst on my ovary had ruptured.
When i was younger i also has some ganglion cysts removed from both of my arms, i was wondering if anyone knows if there is something that i am doing to make my body produce all these cysts or if there is something i can do to prevent them in any way?
i am still in pain from the cyst on my ovary, and they think there are more on my ovaries and want me to go to a specalist to find out what to do from here, has anyone ever had one burst? i have never heard of them bursting before and the pain is pretty bad...if anyone has any personal experience with this or anything please let me know...thanks.....
Cysts(ovarian and ganglion)?
Yes, mine was recurring on one ovary only and I ended up having my ovary removed. They do not cause pain in everyone.
Follicular cyst: This type of simple cyst can form when ovulation does not occur or when a mature follicle involutes (collapses on itself). It usually forms at the time of ovulation and can grow to about 2.3 inches in diameter. The rupture of this type of cyst can create sharp severe pain on the side of the ovary on which the cyst appears. This sharp pain (sometimes called mittelschmerz) occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle, during ovulation. About a fourth of women with this type of cyst experience pain. Usually, these cysts produce no symptoms and disappear by themselves within a few months. A woman's doctor monitors these to make sure they disappear and looks at treatment options if they do not.

Reply:The two cysts are probably not related. I have a long history of ovarian cysts. Yes, they can be very painful. They can also cause long term problems. Therefore you need to see a gyn so they can find out why you are susceptible and how they can control the production of them. Sometimes it is as easy as going on birth control pills. So don't delay call a gyn.
Reply:I have never even had one to my knowledge=your body must be prone to them =go to that specialist
