Hi ,on my stomach scan they found a 1.8cm mass on my left kidney and said it dont look like a cyst?

if its a lesion can it be serious on my kidney can it be deadly? i will see uroligst in 1 week

Without the exact details, I would say you have reason to worry. "Masses" and "lesions" are almost always suspect for cancer. If it is cancer, it sounds relatively small and hopefully has not spread. Therefore, cancer treatment would have a favorable outcome.





I hope the mass is benign.
Reply:Do you smoke? If you do, you might want to consider giving it up. It is linked to several cancers besides just lung cancer. (kidney and pancreatic cancer)





Hopefully for you it will turn out to be just a bad scare, maybe a benign cyst or something.
Reply:i thought i had g.e.r.d. cause i had heartburn and got full with only eating half a sandwich,,,me and my doctors went round and round,they took 5diffrent tests,,anyway they finally found a cyst on my byle duct and it;can cause cancer;with out a cure;so i must have major surgery to cut it out'and cut and redo my intestines,,,nowadays they have so much different ways to find these things in our bodies'and what course to take 'that is best for our own body types.....i went to a uroligst alison he'll be able to tell if it;s interfering with your peeing and such....don't stress your self out to much as being a nervous wreak'helps no one keep faith and build your body quit smoking if you do, and eat lots of fruits and veggies good-luck and god bless you hang in there,,,,, Shelly in Seattle
